University of Miami Athletic Department Earns 990 APR Score as Nine Programs Reach 1,000 featured image

The University of Miami athletic department earned an Academic Progress Rate score of 990 in the NCAA’s latest report, which was released May 5. The score was higher than the national Division I average of 986. The NCAA released APR data for all Division I institutions.

The Academic Progress Rate is an annual scorecard of academic achievement for Division I sports teams. It tracks the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship and accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation. The APR also provides a measure of each team’s academic performance.

Nine University of Miami programs record perfect APR scores

Nine University of Miami programs recorded APR scores of 1,000 for the 2024-25 academic year. The programs were men’s basketball, men’s cross country, men’s diving, men’s tennis, men’s track and field, women’s cross country, golf, women’s tennis and women’s track and field.

Men’s cross country, men’s diving, golf and women’s tennis also earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards for perfect multi-year APR scores. The awards were based on results from the 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years.

“I am proud of our student-athletes for continuing to earn high APR marks,” Vice President/Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich said. “Thank you to our staff and coaches for their efforts in helping our student-athletes succeed in the classroom.”

University of Miami APR scores

The University of Miami’s multi-year APR and 2024-25 APR scores were:

  • Baseball: 986 multi-year APR; 980 for 2024-25.
  • Men’s Basketball: 994 multi-year APR; 1,000 for 2024-25.
  • Women’s Basketball: 979 multi-year APR; 952 for 2024-25.
  • Men’s Cross Country: 1,000 multi-year APR; 1,000 for 2024-25.
  • Women’s Cross Country: 990 multi-year APR; 1,000 for 2024-25.
  • Men’s Diving: 1,000 multi-year APR; 1,000 for 2024-25.
  • Football: 984 multi-year APR; 993 for 2024-25.
  • Golf: 1,000 multi-year APR; 1,000 for 2024-25.
  • Rowing: 986 multi-year APR; 976 for 2024-25.
  • Soccer: 995 multi-year APR; 983 for 2024-25.
  • Women’s Swimming & Diving: 989 multi-year APR; 970 for 2024-25.
  • Men’s Tennis: 953 multi-year APR; 1,000 for 2024-25.
  • Women’s Tennis: 1,000 multi-year APR; 1,000 for 2024-25.
  • Men’s Track & Field: 995 multi-year APR; 1,000 for 2024-25.
  • Women’s Track & Field: 979 multi-year APR; 1,000 for 2024-25.
  • Volleyball: 995 multi-year APR; 978 for 2024-25.
