The Orlando Solar Bears announced the signing of rookie forward Camaryn Baber to an ECHL Standard Player Contract for the 2026-27 season, marking the beginning of his professional hockey career.
Baber, 25, joins the Solar Bears after a distinguished four-year collegiate career at the University of New Brunswick where he helped secure three Atlantic University Sport Championships and two University Cup titles. During his time at UNB, Baber played 139 regular season and playoff games, recording 56 points split between 27 goals and 29 assists, compiling 222 penalty minutes, and earning a plus-58 rating. He also served as an alternate captain in the 2025-26 season.
Prior to his university play, Baber developed his skills over five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Saginaw Spirit and London Knights. He appeared in 205 games combined, contributing 98 points, including 39 goals and 59 assists, alongside 137 penalty minutes and a plus-31 rating. He captained the Saginaw Spirit in the 2021-22 season before being traded to the London Knights to support their playoff efforts.
A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, Baber is listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds and plays center. He is included on the Orlando Solar Bears 2026 preseason roster, which features forwards Tyler Bird and Aaron Luchuk, and defenseman Jarod Crespo.
