Florida's NHL hub follows the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, including games, roster moves, injuries, prospects, trades and Stanley Cup coverage. AHL and ECHL affiliates that are part of each Florida club's development system are nested under the parent NHL category. The NHL established a permanent Florida footprint with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1992 and Florida Panthers in 1993. Tampa Bay became a Stanley Cup champion in 2004 and again in 2020 and 2021, while Florida reached the 1996 Stanley Cup Final before winning back-to-back championships in 2024 and 2025. Their AHL and ECHL partnerships have also made the state an important part of the professional hockey development ladder.
