The Florida Everblades have secured veteran defenseman Jordan Sambrook for the 2026-27 ECHL season, agreeing to terms on a standard player contract. Sambrook, 28, returns to the Everblades for his sixth season in Estero, Fla.
Last season, Sambrook played every regular-season and postseason game for Florida and led the team’s defense with nine goals and 38 assists, totaling a career-high 47 points. His outstanding performance earned him a selection to the All-ECHL Second Team.
Defensively, Sambrook finished with a plus-62 rating, the highest ever recorded in the 38-year history of the ECHL. During the playoffs, he contributed one goal and six assists over 20 games as the Everblades captured the 2026 Kelly Cup.
Since joining the team, Sambrook has appeared in 261 games for Florida, compiling 19 goals and 90 assists. He has been a key part of the franchise’s championship runs in 2022, 2024, and 2026.
Throughout his professional career, Sambrook has also played for the Kansas City Mavericks and in the American Hockey League with the Charlotte Checkers and Henderson Silver Knights. His junior career highlights include winning the 2017 Ontario Hockey League championship with the Erie Otters, as well as time with the Soo Greyhounds. Sambrook was selected 137th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
