University of South Florida men’s soccer will host UNF at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, in Tampa for the third home match of the 2026 season. The match will be the first time South Florida has hosted UNF since 2017. South Florida enters at 1-2-0, while UNF is 0-2-1.
South Florida is coming off a road loss to UCF in the War on I-4. UNF most recently lost to FAU, an American Conference opponent. The matchup marks the second consecutive South Florida opponent that faced FAU in its previous match.
South Florida has won all four meetings with UNF
South Florida is 4-0-0 all time against UNF and has outscored the Ospreys 9-1. The Bulls have allowed one UNF goal across the series. Three of South Florida’s wins came at home in Tampa, while the other came on the road in Jacksonville.
The programs last met in 2019, when South Florida won 1-0 in Jacksonville. George Kiefer is 3-0 against UNF all time, including a 2-0 record while at South Florida. He also defeated the Ospreys 1-0 in 2023 during his tenure at NC State.
Kiefer returns for his second South Florida tenure
South Florida hired Kiefer for his second tenure as head coach on Dec. 10, 2025. He previously led the program from 2002-16, when South Florida went 162-86-51, won four conference championships and made 10 NCAA Tournament appearances. South Florida advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2008 and 2011 under Kiefer.
South Florida men’s soccer competed in the school’s first intercollegiate athletic contest on Sept. 25, 1965, defeating Florida Southern 4-3. The program has won 14 conference championships and made 22 NCAA Tournament appearances, including three trips to the Elite Eight. Tuesday’s match will be played in Tampa, with tickets, ESPN+ streaming and live statistics available through South Florida.
