University of North Florida Women’s Tennis opened its fall competition with 23 wins at the College of Charleston Invitational, including 16 singles victories and seven doubles wins Sept. 18-19 at the Turner Tennis Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
North Florida swept all six singles matches against UNC Greensboro on Friday. The team also earned four singles victories against Coastal Carolina before adding six singles wins against host College of Charleston on Saturday.
North Florida’s seven doubles victories included a sweep of all three matches against UNC Greensboro and two wins against Coastal Carolina. Junior Gabby Goyins and junior Sydney Stark led the team with three doubles victories as a pairing, while fifth-year Emma Kette and sophomore May Fadida won two matches together.
Goyins and Stark Lead Doubles Results
Goyins and Stark defeated Ella Deford and Aneta Holubova of College of Charleston, 6-4, before beating Lauren Thomson and Sanne Elise Salomonsen of UNC Greensboro, 6-0. They completed the weekend with a 6-3 victory over Brunelle Kouam and Floortje Chrisstoffels of Coastal Carolina.
Goyins also won three singles matches during the tournament. She defeated Francisca Laundes of Coastal Carolina, Kayley Bushnell of UNC Greensboro and Oziera Ahmad of College of Charleston.
Stark added singles victories against Brunelle Kouam, Lauren Thomson and Paul Dougherty. Her win against Kouam came in a match tiebreaker.
North Florida Sweeps UNC Greensboro in Singles
North Florida’s six singles victories against UNC Greensboro came from Aryana Bartlett, Gabby Goyins, May Fadida, Sydney Stark, Jessica Gunter and Aubrey Effler. Bartlett defeated Sara Kostic, Goyins beat Kayley Bushnell, Fadida defeated Sanne Elise Salomonsen and Stark beat Lauren Thomson.
Gunter added a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Ivet Sala-Sanchez, while Effler completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Eliza Perry. North Florida also won all three doubles matches against UNC Greensboro, with victories from Goyins and Stark, Bartlett and Gunter, and Zoe Dupaty and Aubrey Effler.
Against Coastal Carolina, North Florida’s singles wins came from Aryana Bartlett, Gabby Goyins, May Fadida and Sydney Stark. Bartlett and Stark won their matches in match tiebreakers, while Fadida defeated Floortje Chrisstoffels in straight sets and Goyins beat Francisca Laundes, 6-4, 6-3.
Six Singles Wins Against College of Charleston
North Florida closed the tournament with six singles victories against College of Charleston. Bartlett defeated Ella Deford, Goyins beat Oziera Ahmad, Fadida defeated Aneta Holubova, Stark defeated Paul Dougherty and Gunter beat Riley Trinkle.
Zoe Dupaty supplied the sixth victory with a three-set win over Saige Severance. North Florida’s other doubles victories against College of Charleston came from Goyins and Stark, who defeated Deford and Holubova, and Kette and Fadida, who beat Olivia Bull and Sophia Kovacheva, 6-2.
Kette and Fadida also defeated Mollie Garcia and Charlotte Vanstone McGrath of Coastal Carolina, 7-6 (3). Dupaty and Aubrey Effler added a 6-4 victory against Sara Kostic and Sofia Somoano of UNC Greensboro.

University of North Florida Women’s Tennis is scheduled to compete next at the Bedford Cup on Sept. 25, 2026. The College of Charleston Invitational marked North Florida’s opening fall competition.
