The Orlando Pride and goalkeeper Cara Martin agreed to a new contract through the 2028 National Women’s Soccer League season, with a mutual option for 2029. The Orlando Pride announced the agreement Aug. 27, 2026. Martin joined the club ahead of the 2026 season after signing her first professional contract with the Orlando Pride in January.
Cara Martin’s Georgetown career
Martin, 22, played collegiately at Georgetown University, where she earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year honors in consecutive seasons. She was named a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American as a senior. In her final season, Martin started all 23 matches, recorded eight shutouts and made 59 saves.
Martin also earned All-BIG EAST First Team, All-East Region First Team and CSC Academic All-District honors in her final collegiate season. Caitlin Carducci, Orlando Pride vice president of soccer operations and general manager, said Martin has embraced opportunities to learn and develop since joining the club.
“Since joining the Pride as a rookie out of college, Cara has continued to show the qualities we look for in a goalkeeper at this level,” said Caitlin Carducci, Orlando Pride vice president of soccer operations and general manager. “She has embraced every opportunity to learn and develop, and we believe she has the potential to become an impact player in the NWSL. She has a very bright future ahead, and we’re excited to see her continue to grow here in Orlando.”
