Ave Maria Women’s Soccer played the Florida National Conquistadors to a 0-0 draw Sept. 20, 2026, at Gyrene Field in Ave Maria, Florida. Hannah Kelly made her first start of the season in goal and played all 90 minutes for Ave Maria University Athletics.
Kelly made two saves, with one coming in each half, as Florida National finished with six shots and two shots on goal. Ave Maria produced 13 shots, including three on target, but neither team found the net.
Ave Maria Creates More Chances
Ava Conforti and Claire Wrobleski each had a first-half scoring chance for Ave Maria, but both attempts were saved by the Florida National goalkeeper. The Gyrenes continued to generate opportunities after halftime, when they recorded eight shots.
Cydnee Butler had Ave Maria’s only second-half shot on goal, and the Florida National goalkeeper turned it aside. The result gave both teams a clean sheet and ended the match scoreless.
Draw Moves Ave Maria to 3-1-1
The draw was Ave Maria’s first of the season and moved the team to 3-1-1. Ave Maria has recorded 19 ties since 2022, including eight scoreless draws.
Ave Maria was scheduled to host the St. Thomas Bobcats on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Gyrene Field in a Sun Conference preview that would not count as a conference match. The scheduled kickoff was 6 p.m., with the match set to stream on the Sun Digital Network.
Ave Maria and St. Thomas were scheduled to meet again in Miami Gardens on Oct. 3 for the conference match.
