No. 1 Florida Tech women’s soccer defeated Saint Leo 1-0 on Saturday, Sept. 19, at University Turf Field in Saint Leo, Florida. Eboni Bradshaw scored the game’s only goal in the 21st minute, and Mette Brandes recorded her second clean sheet of the season. The victory gave Florida Tech its first road win of 2026.
Florida Tech improved to 6-0-1 overall and 1-0-1 in Sunshine State Conference play. Saint Leo fell to 2-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference competition. Bradshaw’s goal was her team-leading fourth of the season and her third in the last two matches.
Bradshaw Delivers the Decisive Goal
Florida Tech opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Alice Mottershead placed a ball between two Saint Leo defenders. Bradshaw received it in stride, moved past the Saint Leo goalkeeper and fired into the net. The goal gave the Panthers a lead they held through the final whistle.
Carolina Falcao recorded Florida Tech’s first shot in the seventh minute. Kamila Pena and Maria Rojas also put shots toward the Saint Leo goal before halftime, but both attempts were saved. Florida Tech led 6-2 in shots during the first half.
Panthers Protect the Lead
Florida Tech recorded six shots on goal for the match, while Saint Leo recorded one. Mottershead had a second-half shot saved, including an attempt in the 85th minute, and Lotte Waibel missed wide left from the far-right side in the 50th minute.
Brandes made her first save in the 63rd minute and helped Florida Tech preserve the shutout. Lyneth Restrepo Sanchez also had a late free-kick attempt saved by the Saint Leo goalkeeper.
Florida Tech Heads to Lynn
Florida Tech will play at Lynn on Wednesday, Sept. 23, in Boca Raton. The Panthers enter that match with a 6-0-1 overall record and a 1-0-1 Sunshine State Conference mark.
