Delaney Stephens and Malia Hambrick posted top-15 finishes in the women’s 6K as University of South Florida men’s and women’s cross country competed Friday, Sept. 18, at the FSU Pre-Regional in Tallahassee.
Stephens, a senior, led South Florida with a 12th-place finish in 21:40.6 at Apalachee Regional Park. Hambrick, a freshman, finished 14th in 21:50.5.
Stephens, Hambrick Continue Early-Season Results
Stephens and Hambrick finished back-to-back at the Florida Intercollegiate XC Invitational on Sept. 4. Hambrick led South Florida in the season-opening 5K, with Stephens finishing behind her.
Caroline Irvin finished 121st in the women’s 6K at the FSU Pre-Regional in 24:24.2. Ava Heskett placed 137th in 24:53.6 with a time of 24:53.6.
Raymond Leads South Florida Men’s 8K
Junior Danny Raymond led South Florida in the men’s 8K, finishing 28th overall in 25:27.4. Junior Rafael Rodriguez placed 37th in 25:40.4.
Tyler Dillon finished 78th in 26:27.0, while Cole Stevens placed 99th in 26:54.5. Tanner Andrade-Brinsko finished 130th in 27:39.2.
What Comes Next for South Florida
South Florida is scheduled to compete next at the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 3. The meet is scheduled for E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

South Florida’s strongest individual results at the FSU Pre-Regional came from Stephens and Hambrick, who both finished in the top 15 of the women’s 6K. Raymond led the men’s 8K with a 28th-place finish.
The Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic will be South Florida’s next scheduled meet on Oct. 3 in Louisville.
