The Orlando Pride will visit the Kansas City Current on Friday, Sept. 11, for an NWSL regular-season match at CPKC Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, and Prime Video will broadcast the match.
Orlando has a 2-2-1 all-time away record against Kansas City in the stated series context. The Pride are also the only NWSL team to defeat the Current in a regular-season home match at CPKC Stadium since Kansas City began playing there before the 2024 season, earning a 2-1 victory at the venue on July 6, 2024.
Orlando brings record-setting form into road match
The Orlando Pride enter the match after a listed 3-1 victory over the Houston Dash on Sept. 6 at Inter&co Stadium. Barbra Banda scored her 14th goal of the season on a first-half penalty in the victory, establishing an Orlando Pride club record for goals by a player in a single NWSL season.
Banda’s total surpassed Marta’s 13 regular-season goals in 2017 and matched Banda’s 13 goals from the 2024 campaign. Haley McCutcheon scored Orlando’s third goal against Houston, giving her four goals this season and setting a single-season career high after she scored three goals in both 2024 and 2025.
Interim head coach Yolanda Thomas said Orlando has about one full session to prepare for the short-week match. Thomas also pointed to the Pride’s previous results in Kansas City as the team prepares for the challenge.
“It’s a short week, so we want to build on the momentum of getting a win at home. But really, it’s about deciding how we are going to attack it quickly and then make the most of the sessions. The reality is we have about one full session to prepare, so it’s really about getting the message across clearly and quickly this week, and the players taking that on. I think the bigger picture is we’ve gone to Kansas City many times and have found a way to get a result. So, it’s embracing the difficulty and knowing that we can do hard things.”

The Kansas City Current’s last listed match was a 2-1 victory over Bay FC on Sept. 4 at PayPal Park. The last listed meeting between Orlando and Kansas City was a 3-0 Pride victory on July 10 at Inter&co Stadium.
After Friday’s match, the Orlando Pride are scheduled to host the Portland Thorns on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m. ET at Inter&co Stadium. ION will broadcast the NWSL regular-season match.
