Florida Southern College women’s soccer defeated Flagler College 1-0 on Sept. 5 at Berend Field in Lakeland, Florida, earning a Senior Night shutout. Frankie Gatien scored the only goal at 68:54, with Isabella Payne providing the assist.
Florida Southern College entered the match with a 2-0-2 record, while Flagler College entered at 0-2-1. Florida Southern College controlled the attacking chances throughout the match, finishing with a 19-8 advantage in shots and an 11-5 edge in the second half.
Gatien breaks scoreless match
Gatien put Florida Southern College in front at 68:54 for the match-winning tally. She recorded one shot on goal, while Payne also finished with one shot on goal and an assist.
Ellie Dossantos and Hayden Johnston each recorded four shots. Each player placed one attempt on goal.
Carly Brodsky played all 90 minutes in goal for Florida Southern College. She made two saves and recorded the shutout as the Mocs protected the one-goal lead.
Florida Southern honors seniors
Florida Southern College held a Senior Night ceremony before the match. The ceremony honored Gabi Madrid, Bria Weldon, Ori Gotauco, Ally Prentice, Abby Haskell, Sierra Spirk, Sammie Markey and Rilee Hasegawa.
Florida Southern College women’s soccer will host Embry-Riddle University on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Berend Field in Lakeland, Florida.
