Florida State University Athletics men’s golf seniors Tyler Weaver and Jack Whaley will represent Great Britain and Ireland at the Walker Cup. The event is scheduled for Sept. 5-6 at Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland. Weaver will return to the Walker Cup, while Whaley will make his debut.
Weaver will pair with Connor Graham in Saturday morning foursomes against Jay Leng Jr. and Kihei Akina of the United States. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 a.m. Eight afternoon singles matches will follow at 9 a.m., with lineups yet to be announced.
Walker Cup schedule
- Saturday, Sept. 5, 3:30 a.m.: Tyler Weaver and Connor Graham vs. Jay Leng Jr. and Kihei Akina in morning foursomes.
- Saturday, Sept. 5, 9 a.m.: Eight afternoon singles matches.
- Sunday, Sept. 6, 3 a.m.: Four foursome matches.
- Sunday, Sept. 6, 8:30 a.m.: Ten afternoon singles matches.
Weaver is ranked third in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and is seeking Great Britain and Ireland’s first Walker Cup victory over the United States since 2015. In 2025, Weaver and Graham secured the opening point with a 3&1 victory over Jackson Koivun and Tommy Morrison. The United States won that Walker Cup 17-9 at Cypress Point in Pebble Beach, California.
Whaley is one of four players making his Walker Cup debut. He became the third Englishman in history to win the Havemeyer Trophy after defeating Jay Leng Jr. 4&3 at the U.S. Amateur Championship in August. Whaley is ranked 45th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
