Florida Atlantic men’s soccer will take a 2-0-2 record and a No. 19 ranking into a non-conference match against the Cleveland State Vikings on Sept. 5 in Cleveland, Ohio. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., with coverage available on ESPN+.
The match will be the first meeting between Florida Atlantic and Cleveland State. Florida Atlantic opened the United Soccer Coaches Poll at No. 19, matching its highest ranking from 2025.
Florida Atlantic coming off NC State draw
Florida Atlantic played to a 3-3 draw with then-No. 20 NC State in its previous match. Francesco Aiello, Xavi Csato and DJ Koulai scored for Florida Atlantic, while Csato assisted on Koulai’s goal.
Aiello scored with two minutes remaining in the first half, and Koulai tied the match with five minutes left in the second half. Alfred Mikkelsen’s consecutive shutout streak ended at 322 minutes and 30 seconds against NC State.
Cleveland State enters with 1-2 record
Cleveland State enters with a 1-2 record after starting the season 0-2 and defeating Canisius on Tuesday. The Cleveland State Vikings finished 9-4-6 in 2025 before losing 1-0 to Marshall in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Florida Atlantic will begin American Conference play at home against Charlotte on Sept. 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the match will be available on ESPN+.
