Inter Miami CF Academy’s U-16s and U-14s were crowned champions at the 2026 MICFootball Punta Cana tournament in the Dominican Republic. The achievement marked the first time a club won two different age-group titles in the same edition of the tournament.
Inter Miami CF Academy U-16s opened group play with victories over Santa Fe FC, Academia Fútbol Total and Villarreal CF’s academy from Mexico. The U-16s won those matches 2-1, 7-0 and 8-0, respectively, before defeating Fútbol Lab 2-0 in the quarterfinals.
Levi Williams makes decisive saves
The U-16s drew Grêmio 1-1 in the semifinals and advanced through a penalty shootout. Inter Miami CF Academy then drew Atlético de Madrid 1-1 in the championship match before winning another shootout for the title.
Goalkeeper Levi Williams saved three penalties during the semifinal shootout and made the decisive save in the final. Williams was recently named to the 2026 MLS NEXT All-Star Game roster.
Inter Miami CF Academy U-14s finish unbeaten
The U-14s also won all of their matches at the tournament. They defeated Guayama FC 10-0, GOT FC 3-1 and Elite Football Academy 5-0 in the group stage.
Inter Miami CF Academy U-14s defeated Barça Academy 8-0 in the Round of 16, Venados Yucatán 1-0 in the quarterfinals and Cibao FC 4-1 in the semifinals. The team completed an unbeaten tournament with a 3-0 victory over GOT FC in the final.
Roger Llaurado, Yohanne Calixte and Eleazar Guevara scored the goals in the U-14 championship match. The result gave Inter Miami CF Academy both the U-16 and U-14 titles at the 2026 MICFootball Punta Cana tournament.
