Knowles initially made the Kansas City Chiefs’ active roster after the league-wide roster cuts on Sunday before being waived Monday. He played in all three Kansas City preseason games, recording two tackles on defense and one on special teams.
Kevin Knowles Brings Defensive Backfield Experience
Knowles is listed at 5 feet, 11 inches and 190 pounds. He joined the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent from Florida State in 2025 and split his rookie season between the practice squad and active roster.
Knowles appeared in 13 games during his rookie season, recording five tackles on defense and 10 in kick coverage. He played 70% of the Kansas City Chiefs’ special teams snaps.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had eight defensive backs on their 53-man roster after reducing the total on Sunday. The team also had five defensive backs among its 17 practice squad spots.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Waive Caden Fordham
Fordham was an undrafted rookie from North Carolina State who led the nation in tackles in 2025. During the preseason, he recorded 10 defensive tackles and four special-teams tackles, along with two tackles for loss and one pass defensed.
Fordham could potentially return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad if he clears waivers.
